Search Engine Optimization refers to the process of optimizing/making changes to your website content to make it search engine friendly. In other words, you make changes to the content on your website so that search engines such as Google, and Yahoo can easily identify your content and show it to a user when he/she searches for it.

What is Search Engine Optimization? 


Search Engine Optimization is an effort/process to make website content search engine compatible. For Example, if you are writing content about search engine optimization, and your use the Search Engine Optimization word several times in your content throughout the article, you are optimizing the article to be found on Google or Yahoo search engines when someone searches for Search Engine Optimization Keyword. 


But this is just one aspect of it. Search Engine Optimization is divided into two parts 

  1. On-Page 
  2. Off Page 

What is On–Page Search Engine Optimization?


Over the past few years optimization process has changed a lot, as new and new updates from Google has been introduced. 


In simple words previously, the elements that were considered and optimized under On-Page SEO were – Title, Meta Title, Description, and In Article Content. 


Here Title is the main, where you use the main keyword that you are targeting to be ranked for on SERP. 


Meta Title / Description are short descriptions that are only visible to the search engines, ensuring that search engines know what kind of content it is, you can also use 1-2 secondary keywords in the meta title. 


Nowadays On-Page optimization has changed a lot, the above-mentioned being still relevant and needs to be words on. Now it is more about User Experience Optimization rather than On Page Search Engine Optimization. 


The more the content is user-friendly and helps the user provide the data/ content they are looking for, Google will consider it as compared to others. 


There is a system called content weightage, which means the more people read and spend time on your content, the more it will be shown in other related search results. 


This being about the On-Page SEO, now let’s understand Off-Page SEO 


What is Off-Page Search Engine Optimization? 


Page Search Engine Optimization refers to the task/activity that takes place outside your website not on it but directly impacts its overall Search Engine visibility is called Off Page Optimization. 


There are 3 major things that you might need to work on while working on Off-Page Website Optimization 


  1. Link Building 
  2. Content Marketing 
  3. Social Media Presence 

What is Link Building? 


Link Building is a process of generating backlinks from High Authority websites. In simple words, it’s a process of linking your website link/article link to a website which has high traffic, high domain authority etc. 


Link Building is a crucial part of off-page optimization as its lengthy but is the most effective. The more backlinks your website have, the better the chance of it getting ranked on SERPs of Google, Yahoo or Bing etc. 



What is Content Marketing? 


Content Marketing is a very broad team when it comes to Off Page Optimization. Content Marketing includes repurposing the current content on the website, making it in different formats and publishing it on various platforms that then link back to the original 


These contents are in the format of Podcasts, Reels, Short articles etc. that are then posted on social media platforms like Instagram, Medium etc. 


What is Social Media Presence?


One of the major factors for a business to create an image for itself is its social media presence. 

Nowadays, every business needs to be on social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. as most of the audience or say target audience are on those social media platforms.
